| | Birth Rights Rally - NSW & ACT
Hey all,
Following on from THIS thread, here is a list of those going from NSW & ACT and discussion on travel arrangements.
Maybe we can all wear something purple or something else so we can recognise other BB members... maybe even have BB balloons! We'll definitely have to see if we can have a BB lunch somewhere after the rally.
If you are flying, bussing, or wanting to share transport, please post here!

I'd be happy to go to a sister-rally in Sydney if it's on?

Will be there in spirit though ladies

I'd go with a t-shirt that says "Here or at home - choose where I birth my baby!"

Im going with my very new homebirthed baby (or as will be the case when the time comes) and my midwife. I have room for one or two more people but will be transporting the "virtual rally" so will need to be there a bit earlier. We are just going for the day. Quote:

I'm going!!! I haven't decided if I'm going down early Monday morning and coming home Monday night, or staying one night there. It seems better if I spend Sunday night there.... I don't know....
I may not have a car at all, so I was thinking I would catch a bus down on Sunday if that is the case, but DH is taking the day off work for me.

Not sure if I will make it to Canberra or not - depending on whether exDH can take the monday off so I can drive down and back all in one day from Sydney. Will check back in closer to the time to make it a definite yes or no.

| | Bus $40 from Central Coast/Pennant Hills to Canberra
Hi all,
I am a student midwife and friends and I are organising a bus to go down to Canberra Sunday and leave after the rally. Departing from Gosford at this stage so that cars can be left in the parking building, one stop at Pennant Hills (but we many manage another at a different location on route if the need arrises). We will also be looking into cheap accomodation for the group or you can make your own arrangements. There are 42-48 seats, which are filling up fast! Kids, friends, family and more are all welcome! We will be booking it asap so please get in touch with me or send this to people who may also be keen, the more the merrier!
We are very excited about this opportunity to show our solidarity, I cannot imagine practicing midwifery in a country where homebirth is not an option.
Thanks
Monica
