My sister is Brhianan Frances Victoria - so long that on her testamur from uni they could only fit the first two names, even though she put them all on the paperwork for graduation!

My younger brother also has three names, but my older brother and I just have two. So even in the same family you don't have to keep the same number of names.

I have picked three for a girl, but two if our first is a boy, so just go with what you like, Smithy!

My husband and his father both have four names including their surname and i plan on continuing the tradition. I'm contemplating doing it for all our children. If the names sound nice together then go for it... when ppl just chuck names together that sound silly then i say don't bother.

Hey Smithy - Go for it! Kyla is Kyla Maree Kathryn Sharkey (wanted to use my Mums and MILs names). It's not like you use it all the time, more just on paper.

Glad you didn't move to the ACT... Sorry, I have a twisted humour...

My boy has 3 names : William Edwin John - and we call him 'Liam' for short - which gets constant questioning... Edwin was DH's grandfather and John is a traditional family name (and DH's Dad's name and DH's middle name). I've since found out that William is a traditional name in my family (but that's not why we chose it!).

If you like it and it makes you feel good - do it. As you can see - there are oodles of us out there!!

Both of my children have 3 names (their dad does too). We used family names for middle names - one from each side of the family and it has worked out great so far.

We will give any further children we have 3 names too.

LOL Smithy - I started reading this thread (without looking at the dates) and I was thinking - I'm sure Smithy is having a girl. Glad I haven't lost the plot - and love the name choice
