| | Griffith B of Mid
Have heard that Griffith will be going ahead with the Bachelor of Mid in 2010.
Anyone else heard this??? It will make things so much easier without so much travelling to either ipswich or banyo!!!!

Yes me Neither! Where on the coast are you? I got into ACU this year but it was just going to be impossible to juggle a new bub and travelling up to bris 4 days a week for uni. I'm so glad Griffith is doing it. It'll be based at Logan campus, but still, it's a lot closer than Ipswich or Banyo as you say. They will also offer it part-time which is good for me as I'm hoping to have another bub next year. it will be a huge but so worth it.

HI. I'm on the northern end of the coast, although my daughter will be going to school on the southern end, but at least it's closer than Banyo or ipswich! Would be great if they had pracs available at John Flynn or GC! I guess thats probably wishful thinking though!

Hmmmm I'm not too sure as I'm down the Gold Coast. I would think it is closer than ACU. You wouldn't need to go over the Gateway bridge which would make a big difference. I ws looking at ACU and UP too before i knew Griffith was going ahead with it. Both were too far to travel to (realistically). Ideally would love to go to UQ but not practical in regards to travel and follow throughs.
Why don't you think you'd get into UQ?????

Ok, I am doing an Adult Tertiary Prep course through Open learning TAfe as I didn't do a science at school in 11 and 12 and didn't get an OP. I'm pretty sure that Griffith expects you to have done a science as well. Sorry! I have done the language and learning unit and have now started the biology unit of the ATP.
I haven't got a nursing background at all. Have worked with special needs babies in an orphanage but that's about it.
The other thing you could do to make sure you could get into Griffith is to do a science unit through Open Universities Australia.
Hope this helps!

The course has changed since I enrolled, and I think you have 6 months to do the units in. You have to do the Language and Learning Unit first. It took me quite a while to do that unit but because i spent too much time on the tutorials! The computer unit I did took me 4 months to do (again could have done it quicker but was focusing more on the language and leanring). I've only just started the bio unit , but planning to get it finished by August. TAFE Open Learning Program guide - TAFE Open Learning
Check out the information here. Let me know if you have any more questions.

If i do the ATP does that guarantee entry?
I was also going to become a Doula to help get in - and in the end if i dont get in at least im still helping other females with their birthing experience like i want to do!
