Oh I love this arguement, NOT!! I was under exactly the same pressure and so was my SIL. I was told to start as
DD obviously wasn't getting enough as she was such a fine little baby but my SIL was also hassled because she had a big boy so he needed solids because he was so big.
That generation just don't get the whole wait until 6 months at least for solids. When I was told it was what I did I used to say "yeah well you also feed us watered down condensed milk - want me to do that too??"It's so hard but you are here mum and you know what is best. Just to annoy them all I secretly started
DD on solids when she was a bit older than 9 months but didn't tell them for another 6 weeks so
DD was about 8 months. They were absoltely deside themselves,
